The Cowal mine is located in Central New South Wales, Australia, approximately 32 kilometers north of West Wyalong ( near Cowal lake) and approximately 350 kilometers west of Sydney.

History of the COWAL Project |
Mining in the Cowal open pit commenced in 2005 and was commissioned in April 2006.In March 2006, Cowal mine
became the first facility in the world to obtain the
International Cyanide Institute Certification.

Geology of the COWAL Project |
|
The Cowal mine is located in the Lachlan Fold Belt of Central New South Wales. This Ordovician volcanic belt contains high K calc-alkaline to shoshonitic volcanics and intrusives which host porphyry, epithermal and mesothermal style gold deposits.
