ASX/Media Release 4th August 2008
NIMRODEL APPOINTS CHIEF GEOLOGIST
International uranium and base metals explorer Nimrodel Resources (ASX: NMR ?Nimrodel?) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Peter Frikken to the role of Chief Geologist. The appointment comes ahead of an extensive exploration programme which is due to begin shortly at the Company?s highly prospective uranium tenements in Kyrgyzstan.
Dr Frikken brings to Nimrodel an excellent academic record complemented by over eight years experience in senior mining roles encompassing a diverse range of geological disciplines, as well as practical knowledge through his experience working on culturally diverse, multi-commodity overseas exploration projects.
For the past two years Dr Frikken has worked as a Senior Geology Consultant with international mining consultants Coffey Mining. In this time, his role has focused on project assessment, in particular the targeting of new and additional resources through the application of a range of techniques (including field mapping and interpreting deposit specific characteristics) in a variety of locations and terrains. These locations include Sierra Leone, Zambia, Bulgaria, El Salvador, Krgyzstan and two and a half years in central
and northern Chile.
Dr Frikken is a timely addition to Nimrodel?s exploration team ? which is headed by Exploration Manager, Tony Martin ? and will be instrumental in the ongoing Induced Polarization (IP) surveys, ground-borne geophysical surveys and geological mapping of identified areas of significant potential on the Batken lease. Nimrodel is set to commence an extensive drilling campaign at Batken shortly.
Commenting on Dr Frikken?s appointment, Nimrodel?s Managing Director, John Hebenton, said: ?We are delighted that Peter has agreed to take on a permanent role with us, especially given his extensive knowledge of the Company and our projects in Kyrgyzstan, through his recent work in a consulting capacity for our Kyrgyzstan-registered subsidiary, Linia Prava JSC.
?Peter?s experience in mapping and interpretation will reinforce the efficiency of our exploration programs and underpin the acceleration and implementation of our exploration agenda in Kyrgyzstan,? he added.

About Nimrodel
Nimrodel Resources is an international exploration company which is developing a portfolio of highly prospective, uranium and base metals projects in Kyrgyz and Australia. The Company has three core projects: the Batken Oblast and Mailuu -Suu tailings Projects in Kyrgyzstan and the Buckaroo Project in Australia.
The Company?s Mailuu-Suu tailings Project has the potential to underpin a short-medium term uranium business in the future. The Company has recently been issued a prospecting licence which allows for the reprocessing and extraction of uranium and other metals from 23 tailings deposits in the Mailuu-Suu district in Central Kyrgyzstan. The total volume of tailings dams is estimated at 2 million cubic metres. The Mailuu - Suu district was an impressive uranium mining area in Soviet times and was mined underground from 1946 - 1968 on 5 separate sites.
The Batken Oblast Project covers 3,862 km2 and encompasses a highly prospective area with geology similar to that of the Shu-Sarysu and Sydary deposits in Kazakhstan, which have total resources of 1.13Mt of uranium. The leases are in the Fegrana Basin, within 10km of an existing uranium plant at Hojent in Tajikistan and within 45-100kms of former Soviet uranium mines, including Mailuu-Suu and Tuya Muyun. Having completed a significant 20,000 line km radiometric and magnetic air survey program in December 2007, Nimrodel identified 29 high priority targets to be defined for ground survey and drilling in 2008.
