VAL D'OR, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sep 9, 2014) - Hinterland Metals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:HMI) ("Hinterland" or the "Company") is pleased to provide an update of ongoing exploration on three projects in Quebec. An 80-kilometre electromagnetic ground survey has been completed on the 94-claim (4,209-hectare) Guyberry property ("Guyberry") located approximately 95 kilometres northwest of Val d'Or, Quebec. Guyberry covers a 10-kilometre section of the Chicobi Deformation Zone ("CDZ") within volcanic rocks adjacent to the southern margin of a felsic intrusion. The goal of the survey is to better define the CDZ and determine any conductive zones along it that may contain gold-bearing sulphide mineralization. The field data is currently being processed and compiled into sections and maps. In preparation for an electromagnetic ground survey, a 135-kilometre grid has been recently cut on the 67-claim (2,882-hectare) Mozart property ("Mozart") located approximately 60 kilometres northeast of Val-d'Or, Quebec. Mozart covers an under-explored, 10-kilometre segment of the Carpentier-Courville deformation corridor. In November 2012, Hinterland completed a combined airborne magnetic and electromagnetic survey over Mozart and identified 11 new target areas with potential for volcanic massive sulphide-type and/or shear-type gold structures. The goal of the upcoming electromagnetic ground survey is to better define these target areas. Hinterland is currently carrying out an 80-kilometre electromagnetic ground survey on the 14-claim (784-hectare) Surprise project located approximately 45 kilometres south of Chapais, Quebec. This property shows favourable geology and fault structures, and has gold mineralization documented in a previous drill hole. The goal of the survey is to identify any conductive zones that may contain gold-bearing sulphide mineralization.
