AngloGold Ashanti intends to delist from the London Stock Exchange (LSE) because of a lack of liquidity on the exchange and the minimum number of its securities held in the UK. According to Reuters, AngloGold’s board resolved to request cancellation of the listing of its ordinary shares and depositary interests of R0.25 each. Its UK depositary interest programme would also be cancelled. It would continue to be traded on the JSE, New York Stock Exchange, Ghana Stock Exchange and Australian Stock Exchange. The shares rose 0.38 percent to R182.79 on the JSE yesterday. – Staff Writer
