Barry Casson appointed Chairman of Metallica Minerals

Metallica Minerals Limited (ASX:MLM) is pleased to announced that Mr Barry Casson is being appointed to the position of Independent non-executive Company Chairman, effective
30 June 2015 at which time the current and long standing Chairman, Mr David Barwick, will
retire as a director of the Company.
Mr Casson was appointed to the Metallica Minerals board as an independent non-executive Director on 1 December 2010. Mr Casson brings to Metallica more than 40 years of Board, Executive Management and Corporate Finance experience, including involvement in several project developments, predominantly in the resources industry. Mr Casson has held senior corporate positions with both publicly-listed in Australia and internationally.
He qualified as a Chartered Accountant nearly 40 years ago and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Mr Casson is currently a non-executive Director of Archipelago Metals Limited (an unlisted Public Company) and a Member of the Board of Unitywater, a statutory authority providing water and sewerage services to the Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa local authority areas. He is also a Director of CassTech Limited, an unlisted public company in the agriculture industry of Far North Queensland.
Barry has been the Independent Chairman of the company's Audit and Risk Committee, and is also Chairman of the Unitywater Audit and Risk Committee.
Metallica's Managing Director, and a founding director of the Company, Andrew Gillies welcomed the appointment of Barry to the position of Chairman of the Board and pays tribute to the valuable experience and work ethic of David as Chairman since 2004. "David's was obviously a key and active director of our company, we have shared many Company, corporate and project transactions together and I give much appreciation for his many contributions" said Mr Gillies.
Mr Casson said, "on behalf of the Metallica Board I would like to sincerely thank outgoing Chairman Mr David Barwick, who has made an outstanding contribution to the Company during his long standing tenure." Mr. Barwick recently relocated from Brisbane and will focus on his other business activities and directorships.
