| Board confirms shareholding and management changes |
| A meeting of the Bougainville Copper Limited board of directors on Monday 4 July has confirmed some major outcomes relating to the company's shareholding and management arrangements.
The Independent State of Papua New Guinea (PNG) has taken up its 17.4 percent entitlement to Bougainville Copper Limited shares under the arrangements established by Rio Tinto, which gives PNG a 36.4 percent equity holding in the company.

| Peter Taylor resigns from BCL |
| Peter Taylor has resigned from his role of Chairman of Bougainville Copper Limited following the decision by Rio Tinto to transfer its shareholding in the company to an independent trustee.
Robert Burns has been appointed acting Chairman and a board meeting of BCL will be held on Monday, 4 July 2016.
The board of directors are presently considering the consequences of this action and are taking appropriate advice on the affect it may have on the BCL.

| TIN Rio Tinto transfers BCL shareholding to independent trustee |
| Rio Tinto has today transferred its 53.8 per cent shareholding in Bougainville Copper Limited (BCL) to an independent trustee.
Equity Trustees Limited will manage the distribution of these shares between the Autonomous Bougainville Government (ABG) for the benefit of all the Panguna landowners and the people of Bougainville, and the Independent State of Papua New Guinea (PNG).

| Bougainville Copper Limited has announced that the 2016 Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday, 1 June 2016, in Port Moresby
The AGM will be held at the Grand Papua Hotel, on Mary Street in Port Moresby, and will commence at 2pm.
The notice of the meeting, proxy form, explanatory notes and the 2015 Annual Report were mailed to shareholders on 2 May 2016.

| Exploration Licence granted |
| The Bougainville Mining Act 2015 (Mining Act) came into force on 1 April 2015.
Under the Mining Act, Bougainville Copper Limited (Company) is deemed to have held an exploration licence (EL) as at 8 September 2014 for a period of two years.
The Bougainville Mining Regulations 2016 have now come into effect, and accordingly, the Company has been provided with documentation from the Department of Mineral and Energy Resources confirming the grant of EL1 to the Company.
