Monetary Metals' Weiner refuses to see anything wrong in the gold market |
These days there aren't many denials of gold market manipulation by governments and central banks.
As the documentation has piled up, most of the former deniers have fallen silent or struck the pose of 321Gold's Bob Moriarty, who these days writes that all markets are manipulated and everyone should just get over it, as if the identity of the manipulators, their capacity for manipulation, and the degree of their manipulation are of no practical or moral concern.

Lassonde likes the gold price with central banks rigging the market |
Oh, for a journalist who would put a few serious questions to Franco-Nevada Chairman Pierre Lassonde, former chairman of the World Gold Council, when he says, as he told Daniela Cambone of Kitco News this week, that "gold is well-priced" and "where it should be."

Does Lassonde mean that gold is doing as well as it could against the daily gold derivatives trading by central banks?

The end of the world as we know it
It’s Christmas 2017 and North Korean Dear Leader Kim Jong-un is facing a crisis. Recently the United States, with UN approval, imposed the harshest round of economic sanctions yet on his reclusive regime.
While North Korea has been sanctioned since 2006 due to continuing attempts to develop nuclear weapons, this new provocation by its sworn nemesis is the last straw for Kim, who feels the great legacies of his father and grandfather, Kim Friday, December 29, 2017 |

Gold Miners in 2017 Whipsaw |
By Gary TanashianEver since 2012’s failure of the ‘QE 3 rally’ in the precious metals it has not been fruitful to micro manage the gold sector, because that failure jump started a savage bear market that would need time to work out the excesses both in the sector’s investor base and in its mining businesses, which had become bloated and inefficient. That’s what bear markets do; they clean out the landscape to make it inhabitable for new investors one day. Here is a weekly chart showing the bear’Sunday, June 4, 2017 |

Sprott Asset Management founder and philanthropist Eric Sprott, honored last night in Toronto at a retirement testimonial dinner sponsored by the company, praised GATA's work and called on GATA Chairman Bill Murphy and your secretary/treasurer to stand and be recognized. Time to Get Back into Gold Stocks |
Money manager Adrian Day updates developments and guidance from three major gold companies.
Gold stocks have been on their not-untypical first-quarter ride, rallying 33% from the mid-December lows before giving back most of that move. A Time for Caution, Though Gold Stocks Look Like Good Buys |
While fund manager Adrian Day believes investors should tread cautiously in the market right now, he is upbeat on some gold stocks.
Given our caution on the broad stock market, resulting from relatively high prices across the board, we have relatively few "buy" recommendations. Most of our buys are concentrated on the gold stocks, and even there, many of our limits are below current prices.
