Common Gold Silver Pitfalls to Avoid |
Investing in gold and silver may seem simple and straightforward, however it is not.
There are many types of ( quote, unquote ) "investments" in gold and silver you will want to avoid.
Gold and silver dealers are no different from any other industry or crowd of people.
Within our industry you will find many good honest professionals and organizations, but you will also find some bad outfits whose practices can be described as underhanded, even criminal.

Financial crisis dynamics, the ‘shadow’ gold demand, and Mene |
The study of financial crises is as old as the economics discipline itself. One of the most prominent theorists of financial crises ever to hold a senior Federal Reserve policy position was John Exter, vice-president of the New York Federal Reserve during the 1950s. Several years ago I co-wrote a series of essays on Exter’s theories together with his sonin- law, Barry Downs. In this paper, building on Exter’s work, including his eponymous ‘pyramid’, I introduce a new ‘hourglass’ framework for unSaturday, November 14, 2020 |

October 29, 1929 - Remembering the Anniversary of Black Tuesday |
"The truly savage and frenetic part of New York, the terrible, cold, cruel part, is Wall Street.
Rivers of gold flow there from all over the earth, and death comes with it. There, as nowhere else, you feel a total absence of the spirit: herds of men who cannot count past three, herds more who cannot get past six, scorn for pure science and demoniacal respect for the present.
And the terrible thing is that the crowd that fills this street believes that the world will always be the same, that iSunday, November 1, 2020 |

The Crash of 1929 - |
"...people believed that everything was going to be great always, always. There was a feeling of optimism in the air that you cannot even describe today."
"There was great hope. America came out of World War I with the economy intact. We were the only strong country in the world. The dollar was king. We had a very popular president in the middle of the decade, Calvin Coolidge, and an even more popular one elected in 1928, Herbert Hoover. So things looked pretty good."

What 10-Baggers (and 100-Baggers) Look Like |
Now that it appears clear the bottom is in for gold, it’s time to stop fretting about how low prices will drop and how long the correction will last—and start looking at how high they’ll go and when they’ll get there.
When viewing the gold market from a historical perspective, one thing that’s clear is that the junior mining stocks tend to fluctuate between extreme boom and bust cycles. As a group, they’ll double in price, then crash by 75%... then double or triple or even quadruple again, onlSunday, October 11, 2020 |

What Did J.P. Morgan Mean |
The following exchange occurred on December 18, 1912 when J.P. Morgan – the most influential American financier and banker of his time – was called to testify before Congress.
Mr Untermyer:
I want to ask you a few questions bearing on the subject that you have touched upon this morning, as to the control of money. The control of credit involves a control of money, does it not?
Mr Morgan:
A control of credit? No.

But the basis of banking is credit,Saturday, August 15, 2020 |

Upton Sinclair: The Moneychangers |
"It had all worked out beautifully, according to the schedule. The stock market was falling to pieces—some of the leading stocks were falling several points between transactions, and Wyman and Hegan and the Oil and Steel people were hammering the market and getting ready for the killing. And at the same time, representatives of Waterman in Washington were interviewing the President, and setting before him the desperate plight of the Mississippi Steel Company.

A Rare Selloff On Wall Street |
BOUNCE ATTEMPT POSSIBLE IN COMING DAYSAccording to breadth data from stockcharts.com, today was the worst NYSE Advance-Decline Volume session in history. Given total market volume has changed significantly over the past 80 years, it is more relevant to compare today’s selloff to the recent past. As shown in the chart below, NYSE Advance-Decline posted the lowest reading in the last decade (by a wide margin).

Trump’s Absurd Claim that Americans Are Free from Government Coercion |
In his State of the Union address Tuesday night, President Trump received rapturous applause from Republicans for his declaration: “America was founded on liberty and independence — not government coercion, domination, and control. We are born free, and we will stay free.” But this uplifting sentiment cannot survive even a brief glance at the federal statute book or the heavy-handed enforcement tactics by federal, staSaturday, February 9, 2019 |

Eat Gold |
Submitted by BullionStar.com
A popular phrase in segments of the mainstream financial media is that “You Can’t Eat Gold”. We don’t know who first uttered this comment, but it was more than likely a talking-head or Wall Street analyst on CNBC or Bloomberg.
The disparaging claim seems to be based on concluding that in a financial or monetary crisis, if you own gold, that “You Can’t Eat It”. And so, according to the logic of whoever came up with the phrase, this would make gold useless during a finMonday, August 13, 2018 |

I bumped into a friendly bloke at my local gym last week. Jim is his name.
Jim tells me he just started because, and I quote, "my doctor says I'm going to die unless I do something".
Now, I assure you it doesn't take a doctor to figure this out.
One glance in Jim's direction and you can tell that underneath all that weight there's a big struggling heart in there... just ready to explode. He was surprisingly frank and tells me it's so bad that he can oMonday, August 13, 2018 |

U.S. bank derivatives books larger since rescue of Bear Stearns |
At the end of January 2008, in what would turn out to be its final annual report, Bear Stearns went into some detail about its big book of derivatives. The book had a notional value of $13.4 trillion at the end of November, Bear said, up more than 50 percent from a year earlier. A two-notch downgrade in the firm's credit ratings, it added, would require it to come up with an extra $353m in collateral.
