Bring me that gram of gold and I'll trade you 5 twenty-seven-ounce cans of Columbian Coffee, or a great little portable drill, or a set of 3/8 inch drive sockets with ratchet, or even 8 gallons of gas. Wait 'till you can see the stuff you can get for that gram at the Pawn Shop. You're gonna be amazed !!

None of the guys he asked to have any authority to accept anything else than a credit card or cash. Wrong experiment

Right on ELS.

If you had walked up to the man loading the beer truck and asked him to take any of the BRICS currency - Brazilian Reals, Russian Roubles, Indian Rupees, Chinese Renminbi, South African Rand - do you think he would have? Do you think he would have even known the exchange rate? At least he was able to guess for gold.

The only person in a position to make a decision to accept the gold was the owner of the hotdog stall and guess what - he took it.
