Bondholders “Bailed In” In Austria – EU Bondholders Today, U.S. Depositors Tomorrow
Shortly after the Cyprus test run, Canada's budget document made provision for bail-ins in the event of significant 'systemic risk' to the banking sector.

Dear Harry Dent: Wanna Bet  (1)
Larry Edelson of Money & Markets is also of the opinion that gold will fall below $1,000. An opposed view is held by Andy Hoffman, Egon von Greyerz and others. As a non-economist, just a regular Joe Soap, it will be interesting to see how this pans out. Meantime, my gut tells me to rely on dollar cost averaging and to continue buying gold and silver regulatrly in the very small quantities I can afford, not...

A Cool Interval  (6)
Spot on. I would like to add a quote from Jacques Barzan - "Political correctness does not legislate tolerance; it only organizes hatred".
I believe there is a strong undercurrennt of interracial goodwill among ordinary Americans which is perverted by the windbags, academics and mass media. Let us pray it thrives.

What Are The Rich Doing With Their Money  (1)
Great interview - not that the information is new but it is well integrated and conveyed in a straightforward manner sans jargon. A good one to pass on to friends and relatives.

This Is Disgusting -- And the Food Sounds Gross Too  (5)
As far as possible, cook from scratch at home and eat out occasionally in good restaurants. Avoid processed foods (use fresh herbs, garlic etc, rather than bottled sauces). Buy as much of your meat as you can from private suppliers, such as small farmers. Even in restaurants, I dislike food that has been over-handled, e.g. vertical food.

TESTOSTERONE PIT (My Soul) Gets A New Name
I shall miss the old name - it had a delightfully irreverent flavour. I am, by the way, a middle aged woman.

Coasting Toward Zero  (22)
The MSM news editors are not stupid but they are owned. Franklly, I seldom bother to look at the MSM anymore.

Homeless  (34)
The US needs a new political party that espouses basic values of hard work, personal responsibility, community spirit, clean government etc. Not that such a party would have a hope of getting into office, but it would provide a forum to focus the message and raise awareness amongst the comatose masses. It could provide a mouthpiece for many frustrated, disenchanted citizens who feel their only hope is to leave...

Piketty Dikitty Rikitty  (18)
For the past year or so, I too have thought that we are heading towards living conditions reminiscent of Medieval times, with a small, very rich and powerful elite, a relatively small number of small merchants/professionals and a large body of serfs struggling to provide the basics of living for their families. There is likely to be an increase in the number of smaller natioon-states and everyday life for most ...

I have gained so much insight since reading Jim's articles. Seemingly disparate events now make sense. I notice other bloggers are gradually starting to espouse his ideas. Thank you for your intelligence gathering and the way you pull it all together coherently, Jim

Ukraine as the USDollar Waterloo  (13)
Thank you for connecting the geopolitical dots for me. Apparent disparate and random events make sense given the underlying lust for power and money. Evil is truly at work on all sides.

American Anxiety  (30)
Well said. The challenge is how to change the mindset of those who feel alienated from mainstream society in the US (or who cling to it since it absolves them from having to make a success of their lives in the mainstream?). I would have thought that the symbolic value of having a black president would have been helpful in promoting a culture of acceptance but the races seem more polarized than ever, not least...

Jim Rogers Warns: “You Better Run for the Hills!”  (12)
Canadian readers should look at page 145 of the 2013 budget which allows for a depositor 'bail-in' in the event of major bank failure which poses a systemic threat to the financial sector. I don't know how trustworthy the insurance is on the first $100,000 but know that it would be unwise to hold more in any one institution.

Sad Cyprus  (5)
The idiotic proposal to confiscate capital from bank depositors in Cyprus was chiefly about the optics for German taxpayers. Muti Merkel has an election coming up and there is a domestic backlash gaining momentum against having to bail out feckless banks and governments.

In proposing the confiscation, the EU has opened the door to increased Russian influence in an area of the Med where new energy field...

They Are Getting Ready: “No Obvious Reason” For Why China Is Boosting Stockpiles of Rice, Iron Ore  (15)

Gold And Platinum Surge As Mining Unrest Spreads
The rivalry between the NUM and AMCU unions is, essentially, a challenge from Malema to the ANC old guard. This power struggle is likely to escalate and be prolonged. Expect increasing civil unrest outside of the mining sector.

The myth of riskless debt  (8)
Thank you for clearly written article in plain language. It takes more skill to translate knowledge into something easily understood than to pepper an article with technical jargon that presupposes a high level of expertise in the discipline.
