Joe's main problem is that he has no delivery when speaking.
In fact he sounds like death warmed up.
The USA is technically bankrupt financially with trillions of dollars of debt. In other words a Banana Republic. Good luck to Joe with that problem.

When it comes to elections of politicians I simply do not vote for any of them.
My reasoning is that when you vote you are in effect encouraging the bastards.
AS for Trump or Biden...there's a good example.
Biden sounds and likely is death warmed up.
As for Trump, a lot of what he says is complete and utter gibberish and it looks like he is becoming the World's laughing stock.

The problem with Biden is that he sounds like death warmed up when he opens his mouth.
I would say his odds of winning are 100 to one.
The trouble with Trump is there is very little between his ears, and when he opens his mouth it is mostly nonsensical gibberish.
Do not vote... it only encourages them.

Could it be that some of the managed funds have decided that some gold companies represent good value at these suppressed levels.

Yeah I do not 'get' that response.
I have always felt that the miners will lead a rally in the gold, like it did in the 70's…but it is only a possible signal.

In the end its all about whether holders of PM 's want to swap their holdings for dollars.
It is not really a supply demand issue of gold.
It is more about confidence or lack thereof in the $USD

Great article, and the telling line is the last. " they don't have the money to stand for delivery"
Exactly!!! and that is why they are playing in the futures market in the hope that if they are long that the price will go up and they can take a cash profit.
They are not the slightest bit interested in standing for delivery and could not anyway thru lack of cash.

So what does all this mean?

Regardless of central banks, investors, speculators and "manipulators" I would suggest that that even though the current paper cost on an ounce of gold is about $600 USD away from a possible $1000, I think it far more likely that Gold will be $10,000 before it gets to $1000.

And as I have no regard whatsoever for " support and resistance " and other subjective notions of technical analysis e.g. trend lines, M.A's etc, a figure of $600 would not surprise me.
Mind you the same could be said for $12000 on the upside.

Gold-Silver Ratio its implications  (2)
Say we have a greater depression.
There will be a collapse in all things industrial and not much demand for silver.

Silver falls to $15. Gold goes to $240 at a ratio of 16:1

On the other hand gold could go as a safe haven investment to $3200 and silver does the opposite as above giving a ratio of >200:1

Now that would be historical eh?

Sorry but I just find the whole gold...

High Corn  (27)
If the USA scaled back it's ridiculously large and mostly ineffective military machine, America would be
so much better off, as would be the rest of the world.

Weimar Meets Waterloo  (14)
Nice bit of sport from Jim C, but I think whichever way you look at the economic situation that the USA has brought upon itself, the society there, seriously looks like heading into a complete breakdown.

Fighting Cancer Ourselves
Again the medical fraternity trying to cure the symptoms. Best not to get cancer in the first place by avoiding known carcingens, which i admit is rather difficult.
That said, Cancer Cells are sugar junkies, so it could be that by simply avoiding too much sugar ( AKA frutose, maltose, sucrose) one may be able to kill cancer direct!!!!
By too much,i mean less than 100gm and closer to 50gm per day. A can o...

The Temple Tax  (1)
Frankly i don't know what is going on in Hommel's head as he seems terribly confused.
1) there is no shortage of silver
2) Its winter here in Oz. A grandmother was heroically rescued from her completely fire gutted house here yesterday.
The relatives thanked the man and stated that it was granny's faith in Jesus that saved her.
But now she is homeless, obviously thanks to Jesus, who passed away som...

Black Swans From New Normal  (3)
At my local park, there are white and black swans. Never have I seen a grey swan.
Seems they are a different species.
Maybe the economy will have a grey swan event...in the manner of the recent first ever recorded case of Ecoli human to human transfer.
What that may portend I have no idea but I suggest it will be rather scary if you are caught on the wrong side of any market nowadays.

Saudi Arabia Prepares for a Crude Oil War  (4)
I doubt very much that Saudi Arabia will start a war. They will defend their property and assets if attacked and likely are making preparations for such a remote possibilty.
As for the price of oil, it could go anywhere.
Aren't we supposed to be running out of the stuff?
I think it more likely that the USA will attack Iran. Basically knocking on the door now with the place surrounded. Any excuse will...

This is a meaningless ratio.
Gold could be $160 and Silver $10.

Get Real  (8)
Well written comment. I agree that things will change and hopefully for the better, but if governments are meddling in that ,it will get worse. Basically its up to the individual, but I don't plan on buying acreage to grow my own at this stage.

Did you not offer a $100,000 to anyone who could prove that Obama was born in America?
Leave the Constitutional question aside as that is a different matter.
You should pay the President the dollars and honour your pledge.

Wherein Gary North Rallies My Deflationist Side…  (1)
Hi Rick.
I read North,Willie,FoFOA and other peoples' opinions on 24hG and i must say I find them all interesting for various reasons. It seems to me that like everything else in life it is all relative. For example when we look at the Exeter Pyramid or the Mayer model, money (investment)moves in and out ,up or down to any degree at any one time and all the time. So,some classes would be deflating whilst oth...

Excellent work.

Housing Bubble Comparison: US, UK, Canada, Spain, Australia, Japan  (1)
Hi Mish Recently a fellow bought a $8million 4 bedroom unit overlooking Bondi Beach, 300 sq mts with double garage ie $26700 per sq mtr!! That is a hell of a lot of $aud for what is an ok view. I like Bondi, i live there, but that is way over the top. That said Aust is having a population increase thru new births and migration I believe around 300,000/year and there is a housing shortage. I do not see any real si...
