God, Gold and Guns
We’ve been looking into One Nation Under Gold (2017), by James Ledbetter. October 2, 2017: One Nation Under Gold (2017), by James Ledbetter October 14, 2017: One Nation Under Gold #2: The Silliness of the Bretton Woods Years Now, we will follow Ledbetter’s account of the end of Bretton Woods in 1971, up to the present. The account of the 1971 devaluation was, following the pattern of this book, long on details but short on insight. It seemed to people at the time that they “had no choice,” that

Cecil Rhodes and the Dream of a New World Order Presided Over by an Anglo-American Establishment
"The Rhodes Scholarships, established by the terms of Cecil Rhodes's seventh will, are known to everyone. What is not so widely known is that Rhodes in five previous wills left his fortune to form a secret society, which was to devote itself to the preservation and expansion of the British Empire. And what does not seem to be known to anyone is that this secret society was created by Rhodes and his principal trustee, Lord Milner, and continues to exist to this day. To be sure, this secret soci

EVERY WORKING AMERICAN OWES $ 1.5 MILLION
The facts just don’t add up. US wages are falling, trade deficit is at 10 year high, debt is surging so are stocks and the US Government has again managed to publish a number of contradicting employment figures that make no sense whatsoever. A CONFIDENT BUT UNEMPLOYED CONSUMER US Consumer Sentiment US Consumer Sentiment is the highest in 13 years. At the same time US October Household Employment Survey dropped 484,000 and the Labour Force shrank by 765,000. But due to manipulation of the figure

Shelter From The Storm
What storm?  The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DOW) reached another all-time high.  Interest rates in the U.S. are yielding multi-decade lows, some say multi-century lows. Trillions of dollars in global sovereign debt have negative yield and European junk bonds yield less than 10 year U.S. treasuries. “Official” unemployment is low. Borrowing is inexpensive. Things are good, so they say! Ho-Hum! Really?  Do you believe the above is a fair and accurate representation of our economic world?  If so

Effective Market Management: Art and Science
By Gary TanashianFrom Saul Steinberg’s 1954 drawing ‘The Line’The notion that there is art involved in interpreting the economy and financial markets is probably heresy to many market participants and probably 99.9% of economists (that .1% guy being the one who’s excluded from the meetings and egghead social gatherings), whether they be right or left leaning (I always find it entertaining to hear right wing and left wing economists duke it out, as I did on NPR yesterday, coming to diametrically

The forthcoming global crisis
The global economy is now in an expansionary phase, with bank credit being increasingly available for non-financial borrowers. This is always the prelude to the crisis phase of the credit cycle. Most national economies are directly boosted by China, the important exception being America. This is confirmed by dollar weakness, which is expected to continue. The likely trigger for the crisis will be from the Eurozone, where the shift in monetary policy and the collapse in bond prices will be greates

August 2007: When the Central Bank Con-Trick Failed
"Whatever it takes" has so far equaled $15 trillion of QE... WEDNESDAY this week marks the 10th anniversary of what pundits, analysts and most investors now agree was the start of the global financial crisis, writes Adrian Ash at BullionVault. If they had been paying attention when the interbank credit markets first froze in fear – back on 9 August 2007 – most people wou

Gold’s future confiscation is a growing reality, as currency confidence slides!
Article – Part 5The subject of gold’s confiscation has come onto our screens again, but this time, being described as a “Myth” in the future. This thought comes from Canada, a favorite place for U.S. citizens to store their gold in the hopes that it will be outside the reach of the U.S. Federal Reserve. We respond to the article that described it as a myth, because we are firmly of the opinion that as we move from dollar hegemony to a multi currency, world currencies will find themselves competi

EU Deposit Insurance, a Bank Crisis in Italy and Greece, and the Coming Ban on Cash
Last week we investigated nonperforming EU loans and an EU proposal to freeze accounts if a run on a bank starts. Today let’s investigate the EU’s deposit insurance scheme with the likely result being a ban on cash. On July 19, with little media publicity, the EU Single Resolution Board issued a statement with this exact title: Press Release – Banking Union – Single Resolution Board collects €6.6 billion in annual contributions to the Single Resolution Fund, now reaching €17 billion in total. The 2nd Amendment Comes To Europe: Czech Republic Expected To Enshrine Right To Bear Arms In Constitution
Most people inside and outside of the US believe that this country’s gun ownership rate is unique, but that’s not exactly true. Though America has the most privately owned guns per capita, there are other countries that aren’t too far behind us, such as Serbia, Yemen, Cyprus, and many Western nations like Finland and Switzerland. In most cases, these countries don’t have access to the same kind of firearms that we do, but nonetheless there are a ton of guns floating around in these places. What
