Alamos Gold Inc. (TSX: AGI), a gold mining company, has 100% ownership of the Salamandra group of concessions, which includes the Mulatos gold deposit in Sonora, Mexico.
The Salamandra district consists of 213 square kilometers of mining concessions east of Hermosillo near the town of Mulatos in Sonora, Mexico. The district includes the Mulatos deposit, several satellite deposits and a number of exploration targets. Alamos is initially expected to produce between 140,000 to 155,000 ounces of gold during 2006 from a two-million-ounce reserve base and is drilling additional expansion targets associated with the deposit, at the Escondida / El Victor areas.
