Vancouver, BC: May 7, 2007. Northern Freegold Resources Ltd. (NFR: TSX-V) is pleased to announce it has commenced the 2007 Work Program on the Freegold Mountain project in the Yukon Territory. The 2006 program was completed on the property on Oct. 28, 2006 and results of the drill program were released in the ensuing months. The 2006 Diamond Drill program focused on the Nucleus Zone was considered extremely successful with all holes drilled returning intervals of ore grade mineralization and confirmed the Zone was still open in all directions and to depth. Highlights of that program included the occurrence of visible gold within long, low-grade intersections (204.93 m @ 0.82 g/t Au in Hole GRD06-15) and high grade intervals (3.3 m @ 28.47 g/t Au in Hole GRD 06-34) in several areas. NFR will be conducting (in conjunction with Aurora Geosciences Ltd.), a course to train local community and First Nation members in linecutting skills and and other entry level positions for the mining industry. This will lead to a program of geophysics in late May-early June on the Project. Diamond drilling will commence in early June. NFR has contracted with Kluane Drilling of Whitehorse, Yukon (our drill contractors in 2006) for up to 15,000 metres of Diamond drilling with at least 2 drills on the Freegold Mountain Project. Company crews and contractors are presently active on the property performing spring road maintenance and adding capacity to one of the three camps which will be operational for the 2007 season. The Freegold Mountain Project covers an area in excess of 64 square miles (166 square km) and several road accessible mineralized zones which include historical and non-43-101 compliant resources. Historical work on the Freegold Mountain property dating back to 1930 indicates that the property holds significant potential to host bulk-tonnage gold+/-copper porphyry style mineralization such as that seen at Kinross Gold's Fort Knox deposit in Alaska which has produced more than 3 million ounces in the past 10 years and still has a resource of 2 million ounces of gold from proven and probable reserves of 82.1 million tonnes grading 0.74 g/t). Northern Freegold is a Canadian-based resource exploration and development company which relies on local expertise and strong management to focus on development of economic reserves on the district-scale Freegold Mountain Project in the Yukon and Burro Creek in Arizona.
