Title: Redstar Confirms New High Grade Gold Trend in Red Lake Gold Intersected Along 1.2 km Trend

Redstar Gold Corp (TSX-V:RGC) is pleased to report on high grade gold intercepts in Diamond drilling at its 100% owned Newman Todd Property in northwest Ontario's prolific Red Lake gold camp. Results from the seven holes completed during the 2008 Phase I drill program at Newman Todd continue to deliver high grade results and show continuity in gold mineralization across a trend of over 1.2 km. All holes completed in the 2008 program intersected gold mineralization. Redstar has drill tested the Newman Todd Structure (NTS) to a maximum depth of 325 metres and the zone remains open in all directions. Hole NT-042 highlights the potential of the NTS zone which intersected 25.70 g/t gold over 1.0 metre drilled midway between two previously announced high grade intercepts (NT-040 - 61.02 g/t gold over 1.0 meter and NT-036 - 16.35 g/t gold over 1.0 metre) that are 800 metres apart.

Scott Weekes, president of Redstar, states: "Results from our 100% owned Newman Todd project continue to expand the potential of this impressive Red Lake gold system. The NTS zone is clearly an underexplored "mine scale" trend similar to other trends indentified in the Red Lake District and we have tested it to only 350 metres depth. Every hole drilled in 2008 encountered gold mineralization including a number of high grade intercepts. The deepest hole drilled to date intercepted the widest zone of sulphide breccia and the first instance of fine arsenopyrite crystals. Both of these observations indicate the Newman Todd system is becoming stronger at depth. The combination of the Red Lake project results, the new discovery in southern Nevada and our upcoming work with Gold Fields on the Carlin Trend projects in Nevada has us well positioned to exceed our goals for 2008."

Highlights:

Hole NT-042, located approximately half way between two high grade intercepts that are 800 metres apart intersected 25.70 g/t gold over 1.0 metre within a wider zone of 1.1 g/t gold over 45.0 metres. This hole was lost in a fault zone within an ultramafic horizon and did not test the entire structural corridor.
Hole NT-043 intersected 6.24 g/t gold over 2.0 metres and 2.96 g/t gold over 9.0 metres.
Hole NT-045 is the deepest hole drilled to date on the property and intersected 5 separate gold zones including 8.5 metres of 1.01 g/t gold and 0.5 metres of 7.28 g/t gold. This hole also intersected the widest zone of sulphide breccia yet encountered (over 30 metres) and the deeper intervals contained fine grained arsenopyrite crystals.

Exploration Manager, Bob Singh commented: "Geological continuity of the NTS zone is remarkable, we are seeing identical structures and textures in every high grade intercept within this zone. Structural data indicate there are multiple gold bearing structures within and crossing the NTS zone and it will be important to target these structures in up-coming drill programs. In addition to gold bearing structures, current interpretation indicates the NTS zone is converging at depth and may become a more focused conduit for gold bearing fluids. This is certainly the case at operating mines in Red Lake as well as other advanced exploration programs in the district where high grade gold is often found at depths in excess of 1500 metres. All of Redstar's drill programs to date have been aimed to identify these structures and the mineralized trend at shallow depths. Now that we have found it, we can start to focus our exploration efforts on identifying high grade zones within this corridor and at depth."

We are formulating plans to continue with our drill program after spring-break up and to test this, over 1.2 km long system, at depth. Targets have also been identified outside of the NTS zone including historical intercepts such as Hole NT-003 which intersected 35 g/t gold over 1.40 metres 320 metres south of the NTS zone.

Results from the 2008 drill program have confirmed the presence of high grade mineralization both within and peripheral to the NTS zone. This zone has many similarities to the operating mines in Red Lake including: wide spread disseminated gold mineralization, nearby unconformity, folded ultramafic horizons, gold associated with arsenic anomalies, sulphide replacement bodies and mineralized structures. The deepest holes completed at Newman Todd have the greatest similarities to the mineralization outlined in the operating Red Lake mines and indicate the need to test the system at greater depths.

ALS Chemex Ltd of Vancouver BC, a BC accredited laboratory, is conducting the sample preparation and analyses of samples. Redstar is submitting standards, blanks and duplicates into the sample stream to maintain quality control. Bob Singh P. Geo., a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed this news release and is responsible for the design and implementation of the work program at Newman Todd.
