WESTERN AREAS COMMENCES DRILLING AT FOWLERS BAY JOINT VENTURE
Highlights
Further to the announcement lodged today by Western Areas Ltd ('Western Areas'), Strandline Resources Limited ('Strandline') (ASX: STA) is pleased to report that Western Areas has commenced drilling on Strandline's Fowlers Bay base metal project under its farm‐in and joint venture agreement.
Western Areas have also announced today that they have completed their earn in to 90% of the neighbouring Monax Mining Limited ground.
Commenting on the news, Strandline's Managing Director, Richard Hill, said:
'Western Areas' rapid farm in on the neighbouring Monax ground demonstrates its belief in the prospectivity of the Western Gawler region of South Australia for intrusive related nickel and copper mineralisation. Strandline looks forward to reporting results from this significant ongoing drilling programme over the coming weeks and months as Western Areas focusses its drilling on the Strandline ground.'
Background to Fowlers Bay Project
The Fowlers Bay Project comprises a 700 km2 exploration licence located approximately 150km west of Ceduna in the Western Gawler region of South Australia, close to existing infrastructure including road and port. Western Areas joint venture with Strandline is part of a major 'first mover' regional exploration push across a belt of intrusive rocks that have geological affinities to the Albany‐Fraser Belt, which hosts the recently discovered Nova/Bollinger nickel‐ copper deposit.
