AUSTRALIAN STOCK EXCHANGE AND MEDIA RELEASE

FULL PRODUCTION RESUMED AT OXIANA’S SEPON COPPER PLANT

Oxiana is pleased to advise that its Sepon copper plant in Laos is now back in full production following repair of damage to the plant’s electro-winning tankhouse resulting from a small fire on 27 May.

Partial production was restored on Saturday 7 June (10 days after the damage was sustained) and ramp-up to full production was completed yesterday.

As previously advised, production was running ahead of budget before the fire and the Company is maintaining its production guidance for Sepon at between 60,000 – 65,000 tonnes of copper cathode for 2008. Approximately 2,000 tonnes of copper cathode production was lost in the period during which operations at the plant were disrupted.

Oxiana confirms that there were no health and safety nor environmental incidents caused as a result of the fire.
