Celebrating 10 successful years and looking to the future of the UK LNG market

Offering new services such as additional capacity, cool down, reloading and break bulk
This year National Grid's Isle of Grain LNG terminal celebrates its 10th anniversary.
Since opening in 2005, Grain has grown at pace to become a world-class facility at the heart of the global LNG market.
Grain is now the largest terminal in the European Union, and terminal of choice for LNG shippers looking for access to European markets. It can supply the equivalent of 20 per cent of the UK's gas demand and deliver 15 million tonnes of gas each year. With gas imports set to increase to 75% of gas demand by 2035, Grain is essential for the UK's security of energy supply.
Building upon its success, Grain recently began offering cool down and ship reloading services. There are also plans to offer break bulk services through an open season and possible extra capacity through a fourth phase expansion. This autumn, road tanker loading will be added to the list of services offered.
Simon Culkin, terminal manager said: 'It is time to pause and celebrate our fantastic success and what we have achieved over the past ten years. I am so proud of Grain and my colleagues who've achieved so much in such a short time.
"We now look to our next decade, meeting the energy challenge ahead and delivering an increasing range of services to our customers," added Simon
