Hellix Releases Additional Sample Results/Planned Work Program

HELLIX VENTURES INC. (HEL:TSX.V / HLLXF:OTC) -Vancouver, BC- Frank Underhill, President, releases additional sample results on the Athabasca claim group taken as a part of its initial due diligence. The company, through its wholly owned subsidiary, recently signed an option to purchase 100% of the former gold producer - the Athabasca Mine near Nelson, British Columbia.

In October, 2009, the company commissioned a professional geologist for a site visit. A total of eight grab samples were collected. Only three samples were taken in the Athabasca Mine underground workings, all in the volcanics. According to our interpretation of the historic mine plan map, the location was the #1 adit. These presented the best gold values and are shown below.

All samples were collected and secured by the geologist, then sent for assay to Eco Tech Laboratory Ltd., an established certified lab in Kamloops, British Columbia. Samples were tested for Au via metallic fire assay, and the 46 additional elements via Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP). Note that grab samples are selective and not likely to be representative of average grades.

The Nelson region is experiencing a rebirth in mining exploration activity, particularly the small to medium former high grade precious metal producers. At least two companies in the immediate area have recently completed drill programs, while others such as Anglo Swiss have been adding to their land holdings near their Kenville Mine property.

Hellix's upcoming field season will involve a mapping program to verify the location of significant underground workings and geological structures obtained from mine plans in historical reports. Surface and underground mapping will be followed by a drill program based on our findings.
