Purepoint Uranium Group Inc: Radon Lake Exploration Update

Toronto, September 25, 2008 - Purepoint Uranium Group Inc. (TSX:PTU.V) is pleased to provide the following update on its recent first pass drill program at the Radon Lake Zone of their Red Willow Property in Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin. Purepoint tested the Radon Lake conductor with 13 drill holes for a total of 2,726 metres over a distance of approximately two kilometers. As predicted, the region demonstrated favourable indications of potential uranium deposition. In addition to strong clay and sandstone alteration, anomalous radioactivity was intersected above the unconformity (RL08-09), at the unconformity (RL08-05) and within the basement rocks (RL08-02 and 06). "The source of the high radon-in-water anomaly at Radon Lake has been a mystery since its discovery by Gulf Minerals in 1971" said Scott Frostad, VP Exploration of Purepoint. "Though our drill program in this area produced several uranium mineralized intercepts, we now believe that the primary source of radon most likely lies to the north of the Lake itself, and remains on our Red Willow property to be discovered."

Radon is a short lived, radioactive gaseous element formed by the decay of radium which itself is a decay product of uranium. The lake overlying the conductor demonstrates high radon gas levels fed from a local source
An alteration zone above the unconformity (sandstone) at Radon Lake (hole RL08-09) returned 656 ppm U over 0.3 metres (over 200 times background levels) while other holes intersected narrow radioactive fractures (greater than 100 ppm U) up to 40 metres below the unconformity.
The Radon conductive trend hosts Areva's Burnt Island showing (1.8% U3O8 over 0.5m) located only 1,500 metres west of the Red Willow boundary.
Recent Purepoint geophysical surveys at Radon Lake extended the length of the conductor to over three kilometers.

Purepoint's 100% owned Red Willow property adjoins AREVA 's claim group that contains the JEB, Sue, McClean and Caribou deposits to the west, as well as UEX's Hidden Bay project that surrounds the Rabbit Lake, Collins Bay and Eagle Point deposits to the south. The Radon Lake Zone is located approximately six kilometers south of the Red Willow Osprey Zone. In April 2008, Purepoint reported Diamond drill hole RW-19 from the Osprey Zone had intersected a structure averaging 0.58% U3O8 over 1.0 metre at a shallow depth of less than 100 metres and included an interval assaying 3.03% U3O8 over 0.1 metres. RW-19 is located approximately 80 metres north from the Osprey Zone discovery hole RW-07, which reported 0.20% eU3O8 over 5.8 metres in December 2007.

Radon Lake Zone

Interest in the area began in 1971 with the discovery of high concentrations of radon found in the surface water. The area was also found to have anomalous radioactivity in the overburden. In 1981 three holes drilled by Gulf Minerals north-west of Radon Lake all intersected graphite with the best result being 76 ppm U over 1.0 metre. Purepoint tested the Radon Lake conductor with thirteen drill holes over a distance of approximately 2 kilometers. Anomalous radioactivity was intersected above the unconformity (RL08-09), at the unconformity (RL08-05) and within the basement rocks (RL08-02 and 06). These four holes are spread out over a distance of 1.6 kilometres. The electromagnetic conductor was explained by graphitic pelitic basement rocks in 6 of the 13 drill holes. RL08-02 encountered a radioactive structure within pelitic basement rocks that returned 180 ppm U over 1.0 m from 118.0 to 119.0 m. The structure was associated with fault gouge, quartz veining, limonite and chlorite alteration. RL08-05 intersected radioactivity at the unconformity that was strongly clay altered and assayed 189 ppm U over 0.3 m between 117.7 and 118.0 m. RL08-06 intersected a radioactive fracture approximately 39 metres below the unconformity within a pelitic unit which returned 102 ppm U over 0.3 m from 150.0 and 150.3 m. RL08-09 provided the best uranium intercept of the drill program from limonite altered sandstone returning 656 ppm U over 0.3 metres between 106.2 m and 106.5 m. The altered sandstone returned a weighted average of 175 ppm U over 1.1 metres between 106.9 and 107.2 m.
