The only 'minor' good from the Civil War was the end of Slavery??? 'Minor?'
The undeniable fact is, except for reality deniers, the South initiated the conflict via violence -- making it a rebellion -- out of fear Lincoln would hinter the expansion of their slave system, which he would have.
Unfortunately the Libertarian party has been infiltrated by anarchists who see no worth in ANY kind of government, not even the minimum of insuring the safety umbrella of the Bill of Rights. That government has now exceeded its original mandate and ought to be opposed is not a reason to turn to anarchy -- but, rather, a reason to return to the original ideal of Jeffersonian limited government.
Mark H. is right. The only alternative to limited government is Somalia -- rule by whomever can amass the largest private army.
