The Tiny Dot: US Federal Government, Taxation, And You
- Eric Dubin -
Investor Intelligentsia
Is it any wonder that this pathetic scenario exists?
We train our younglings to be submissive to authority.
We never defined authority, but demand submissiveness and "keep your mouth shut" attentiveness.
We use peer pressure to keep others inline.
We demand paperwork and/or letters before/after a name as instant qualifiers as an authority.
We do everything within our capacity to stamp out critical thinking skills when it comes to questioning authority.
We established a hierarchy of authority. Everyone had better know their place i.e. authority over whom and subordinate to whom.
And rather than use logic and reason to debate, we rapidly drag out logical fallacies to silence any dissent.
We forgot that there are those who are totally incapable of dazzling us with brilliance after so many decades of fast talking baffle them with bull-shit claimants of higher truths that only the most enlightened could possibly understand. We fell for the illusion of authority.
First, last and always, authority must be exercised to maintain the illusion of authority.
Any and all objections to claimed authority must be silenced and use of force is authorized.
No doubt about it, we have created a nation of "just another brick in the wall" debt-slaves and mental cripples totally incapable of exercising critical thinking skills.
As long as they do their job and keep their mouth shut, we feed them a daily dose of hopium. And once or twice a month we refill their EBT card.
And rest assured, this will not change as long as the people continue to get their daily dose of bread and circuses.
Rome was not built in a day, nor did it die overnight.
I contend it is imperative to train folks to develop critical thinking skills before Rome dies. Otherwise the herd will stampede, destroy critical infrastructure and what little wealth that continues to exist. Never forget who was eliminated during the French Revolution or at the hands of the Pol Pot regime.
Will the short video you posted help kick-start individual thought? Unknown, but doubtful based upon the results of previous attempts over many decades.
And intellectual honesty requires that we must maintain the current system as long as possible so we can re-train and re-test the people for their capacity to exercise critical thinking skills. Only then could we expect an orderly transition to a more stable economic system.
Just look around, we hate the wealthy because they can not only afford to foot the bills for our nation but they do. We hate big business because they are so profitable, yet we refuse to recognize that our pension plan is a share-holder in the business. It is everyone else's fault that we are in debt. We demand others take financial responsibility for our failures and yet we demand the right to fail. We hate profitability unless it is our own.
No, I honestly don't think your video will change a thing. And this comment won't either. I only submit it to let others know they aren't alone in their perception of a most unusual reality. Before the Depression of '29, this reality could never have existed. Don't misunderstand me, the Depression was just one of a series of trigger events that go back to at least 1860 or so. The difference was bringing the individual into the federalist fold started in earnest during the 30's. Prior to that it was centered on the states becoming subordinate to the creeping federalism.
*We is defined as society in general. There are exceptions albeit too damn few.

Beginning of the headline :
Virtually all Americans can agree on one thing: the size of the Federal government has become anything but ideal. There’s room for debate about what programs are most wasteful, along with what is rightfully the domain for government involvement in our economy, society and even our individual lives. But we can all benefit by taking a step back, in order to consider the big picture. The following video inspires exactly that sort of thinking...
