>The New World Economics Guide to Curing Affluenza 2: the Affluenza of the Poor  - Nathan Lewis - New World Economics
Your analysis makes sense but it's difficult to apply such practical thinking to the "real" world. I went to a backwater town, Vandalia Michigan ~ population 297 ~ bought some land (cheap) for back taxes, and built a 14 by 24 foot - 2 story - hip-roof barn. That's 336 square feet on each floor for a total of 672 square feet of living space. I found that this little backwater town has decided to base their Local Zoning Laws on the city of Chicago. There can be NO residential building (no residential use of a building) with less than 720 square feet of living space on the main, ground level, floor. So you see, the AFFLUENZA you speak of is forced on us ~ from the top down. The simple way of living you speak of is ILLEGAL in most of America.
