Sounds like we are desperate for a narration here.

"Such is the fate of the merchant throughout all history: doing well, doing good, and forgotten for his service to humanity."

I have to take exception to this sort of rhetoric as it paints a picture which is seldom the case. So where are businesses like the coal and asbestos mining industries which have caused unimaginable pain in the past and yet to come whilst being held up by corrupt representation at the political level? And what about the gun industry where scores of young children are gunned down in their schools by crazies armed by gun manufacturers after the mega profits/ And then we have the drug industry which has killed millions of Americans and ruined the lives of countless more including their extended families. The list goes on and is (almost) endless.

So please push another barrow Lew. Your article is a self fulfilling spiel which defies common decency and you should not have written such a load of crap, especially at this most holy of times when some of us celebrate the birth of our Lord.

Business by its very nature is a veracious animal which seeks to destroy its competitors: survival of the fittest. It is rarely a benign benefactor like you make out. But of course there are instances of human kindness which shines out even in a storm. Your account is the exception.......never the rule.
