Seems as if the germans are happy to leave their gold were it is in New York. They had not planned on repatriating it all anyway. The speed of repatriation is a political problem, not a physical one methinks.

None of the gatagoons seem to have figured out that the costs involved "by simply carting the gold from one country‘s cubicle to another inside the vault" when doing the forex shuffle, are a lot cheaper if the gold is in the home of the worlds main reserve currency.
