I'm not an expert and probably don't even have a very firm grasp on what goes on in the market. I've done some reading to try to get a basic understanding but the problem lies with who wrote the article you're reading. One says this, another articles says the opposite. It's kind of like trying to find the truth about politics and politicians.
It's just this last time the prices went up quickly and it just seemed like someone over compensated by flooding the market and once it finally caught up, the bottom dropped even faster. Again, I don't really know, this is just how it looked to me using the common sense technique of understanding.
