>Ceasefire or Not? Will Kiev Honor Agreement? Poroshenko Says "Prepare for Martial Law" - Mish - Global Economic Analysis
First, last, and always, wars are fought over resources.
In the case of a civil war, those resources are predominantly the tax revenue stream and the underlying real estate/industry that supports the revenue stream.
Now factor in the absolute requirement to maintain that revenue stream in order to service national debt.
The real estate and industry is the collateral that made it possible for Ukraine to get international loans.

The people are irrelevant. All of them can be killed and it won't affect the value of the collateral.
All the housing can be leveled. It is NOT a revenue generator.

The first thing everyone world-wide needs to understand is "the world is financialized".
Everything is evaluated on the basis of income production or collateral valuation for international loans.
Unless you are wealthy, you have NO value beyond your capacity to protect productivity and the value of the collateral.

Once the trouble makers are liquidated, immigration swells the ranks of the labor class.
The immigrants will eagerly labor away for the government that provided them with jobs.
Everyone can be replaced by immigrant labor. EVERYONE!!!
Wash, rinse, repeat throughout history.

And now you know why the EU and USA supports the civil war in Ukraine.
Got to protect that tax revenue stream.
There can be NO autonomous regions in the developed world.
Government is top-down. Autonomy is bottom-up.
Autonomy diverts the tax revenue stream away from debt service.

So if the report of the British Saxons being bought is true, who loaned Ukraine the money?
Always follow the money.

Unfortunately, the separatists only have one viable option.
The Kiev regime MUST be completely crushed and Poroshenko and company must be tried and executed for war crimes against the civilian populace.
Think of them like Hussein or Gaddafi. The cost of failure MUST be death.
Otherwise the party will play on and on.
And of course, a new top-down government will/must be re-installed.
Only the names of the guilty will be changed.

Might I suggest some light reading material. "Coup d'Etat" by Edward Luttwak, Fawcett Publications.
The real irony is that I bought my copy several decades ago at the Special Forces Bookstore on Smoke Bomb Hill, Ft Bragg.
And now it seems that the US government bureaucraps no longer read books that might adversely affect their decisions to cause problems.
Example? Victoria Nuland.
Just look at all the regime change failures the USA has made over the last few decades.
Failed civil wars after failed civil wars and still no more Samozas or Husseins willing and eager to do USA/EU bidding.
Just weak bureaucraps after weak bureaucraps. All of them eager to stuff their pockets with foreign loan monies.
And the military marching band plays on. Just look to Egypt as an example.

Beginning of the headline :A ceasefire in Ukraine is supposedly underway. However there are many indications it won't last long. Let's take a look starting with a critical issue. Kiev Denies Amnesty and Constitution Agreements It seems highly unlikely that the separatists will honor the ceasefire given Kiev Denies Amnesty and Constitution Agreements. My translation follows. Kiev is not going to honor two important points of the new Minsk new agreements: Amnesty and commitment to constitutional reform. Speaking on Fri... Read More
