>Down With the Presidency  - Lew Rockwell -
We have here, in Rockwell, the voice behind Ron Paul, the puppet master behind that wizened wizard of 'peace in our time.' Let us hear that voice:

"The US presidency is the world's leading evil." Really? The 'leading evil'?

And:

"Look at the human toll taken by the presidency, from Dresden and Hiroshima to Waco and Ruby Ridge, and you see a prime practitioner of murder by government." Ron Paul would add the murder of poor Bin Laden.

More:

"The US president is the worst outgrowth of a badly flawed Constitution, imposed in a sort of coup against the Articles of Confederation." A 'badly flawed Constitution'? But didn't Lincoln fix that? More on that later.

Rockwell is a Libertarian gone bad like an package of ground beef left in the sun. We no longer have the reasoned voice of limited governement, a governement responsible for maintaining the rights of all. We have, instead, unending hatred for any kind of authority whatsoever, even limited.

Unspoken is Rockwell's solution: no government. Secession of States from the union, secession of cities from states and individuals from those cities. Justice imposed by private courts, private police forces, private armies. There is a wonderful nation in existence that exhibits this ideal: Somalia. Rockwell is urging, ladies and gentlemen, anarchy.

Rockwell is the offshoot of the anarchist voices of Lysander Spooner and, later, Rothbard. His instrument for action is the dufus Ron Paul. Government is no longer seen as that whose limited function is to objectively arbitarte, protect it's citizens from internal and external threat -- the traditional Libertarian view. Which is why Rockwell and Paul have so often criticized Old Abe Lincoln for thie audacity of not permitting the peace loving South to from the Union -- with slavery. According to Rockwell and Paul (in previous articles), Lincoln overstepped his bounds by not respecting States' rights and by liberating their property -- slaves. Ignored, again, is that Libertarian principle against the initiation of force -- the South firing on Fort Sumpter. As Rockwell ignores the fact of Japanese aggression at Pearl Harbor.

But luckily the voice of Rockwell (Ron Paul) is being soundly rejected in the primaries -- so far.

Beginning of the headline : The modern institution of the presidency is the primary political evil Americans face, and the cause of nearly all our woes.It squanders the national wealth and starts unjust wars against foreign peoples that have never done us any harm.It wrecks our families, tramples on our rights, invades our communities, and spies on our bank accounts...
