"What should be done with the estimated 15 million people living in the United States without the legal right to be here?" ANSWER: send them back. That is what a responsible government looking after its citizens would do. But then where would the cheap labor be? Called having a bet each way.
The reality is that America is now stuck with its imports and that it will have to bear the huge cost of generally unproductive people wanting the American way of life and all that comes with it. With impending citizenship it will be a lay down misere.
Your sentiments about restricting citizenship and birth rights are not sustainable Paul. After several generations these people will be a part of the culture and there will be cries from within to include them in the fabric of your country.
The irony of the situation does not pass without noting that anybody from a well to do western country cannot come to the US for more than 90 days whilst your 'immigrants' effectively have permanent status. What a way to run a country!
