Chris the reverse is also true. I have been following both metals for the past decade and experienced the burn out in silver when it sank from its near record highs of $ 49 something to $ 14 recently. At the end of the day while investments in gold during this period remained in the green my silver holdings still are in deep red. I think timings of buying these metals and sensibly switching of investments between the two metals may be the key to investor salvation.
