>The Rediscovery of Men  - James Howard Kunstler -
So Kunstler thinks Trump is not a "man," and that we need one for instance, "being on the side of the truth instead of reflexive mendacity."

But what Truth would fit Kunstler's description of a Man free of 'reflexive mendacity'? We know, at least, what it is not. It is not a man like Trump who by and large espouses Capitalism, the creation and retention of wealth created by individuals and relatively safe from Government confiscation - via our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

So what you will about those documents, but they have produce the greatest civilization and greatest well being of its citizens the world has ever known. I'm old enough to recall Russian Premier Khrushchev's visit to the United States in 1959. The old communist was literally dumbfounded by his visits to American supermarkets and the abundance there. Communism - State control of individual lives - cannot produce such abundance. Venezuela is the most recent failure of communism.

So if Trump is distasteful to Kunstler....who does make him salivate?

Someone closer to Khrushchev I suppose; someone with the power over individuals to force them out of their cars, kill every industry that burns oil, and, like a Pol Pot, herd people out into the country to live like nature intended off the fat of the land. Someone, I again suppose, with a garage full of 'reflexive mendacity'.

Those of you in doubt, please go back and read Kunstler's archived articles; read his weekly end of the world Peak Oil rants. He doesn't speak of Peak Oil anymore because, well, underground oil is very abundant...it just takes a government allowing private capital to find it. And found it they have: a recent discovery in Texas is said to equal or surpass Middle East oil fields.

So, hopefully, we finally have a man in the White House who will unshackled the American Spirit. Nothing, of course, is guaranteed - but a new beginning is possible if the past mistakes of Liberals like Kunstler can be overcome.

Beginning of the headline :This must account, at least in part, for the post-election hysteria among the social justice folk and their mentors at the Prog end of politics, especially those bent on suppressing or eliminating men. Of course, it’s only been the last year or so that their long-running animus became explicit, their writ against white men in particular. Before, it was all sub rosa, really just a byproduct of the campaign to uplift women, people-of-color, and... Read More
