>Storm has Passed! - Jason Hommel - Silverstockreport
Another excellent article, which includes a few "survival techniques" in your warning. One of the best websites which I believe presents reliable and intelligent sources of information to prepare for collapse of world economies is : www.chrismartenson.com. Possibly the worst website is by Michael Ruppert.

Per confiscation, this term is really incorrect, because Roosevelt did not confiscate gold per se, passing a law in 1933 which made it unlawful to own gold, demanding unwashed masses to turn in coins, bullion et al under threat of huge fines and terms of committal, paying approx $22.30 per oz for all gold volluntarilly turned-in. Then in 1934, Roosevelt decided to increase the price of gold to $35 / oz, which effectively stole 64% of the purchasing value of commoners who were forced to redeem a year earlier.

In my current opinion, possibly the most potent arguments which usurp any notion of U$ government forcing redemption of any PM now or in the future, is presented by Mike Maloney. Maloney states a number of facts, which I believe are common knowledge: of all the fiat paper currency in circulation around the entire world, U$D makes up approx 72%, more than half of which is held outside the U$A.

Maloney therefore resonably concludes : If the U$A decided to make it unlawful for its citizens to own gold and or silver - news would spread within nano-seconds across the entire planet, and persons of reasonable intelligence who are holders of U$D in foreign markets would instantly conclude the U$D was in a freefall collapse - AND INSTANTLY LIQUIDATE ALL POSITIONS ASAP, thereby making the U$D instantly capitulate within minutes, and raising the value of PM into the stratosphere.
