Gypsy, I think a mule will cost you twice that up front, and about $1000 per year to feed, plus farrier and vet calls to keep it healthy. Of course, if you have a big enough pasture, you don't have to pay out of pocket to feed it, but then you aren't growing food for humans on that land either.
