It would be really great if it were the scale and scope of the government that was shrinking, however, "the long emergency" feeds right into their agenda. Continued growth, continued government solutions to the emergency situation, that of course end up making it worse, requiring, in many people's minds, more government "assistance".
You got one thing right for sure JHK, the government is becoming less and less effective over time as it increases in size. Almost identical to the trend of the dollar.
