Sorry to disappoint you but back in the 1960s we were told that automation would give people more leisure time to enjoy themselves. Not only has this been totally false but there is little or no money for this because the big end of town figures that all that money is theirs and certainly is not going to share it around. God forbid...I am sounding like a socialist when I am really a capitalist.

So what we have is:

1. People who work MORE hours than they did previously, often in part time and poorly paid jobs and with often little job security.
2. Retirement is difficult for most and the poverty trap is there waiting for average folk. We were promised so much and have been given so little.

So talk about robots being a good thing if you like. But we need to look at the lies which we were sold in the past to ascertain if it will be more of the same. In the end the 'value' of money is only there if it goes around. The game will have an end point. It always does. "Let them eat cake"!!
