GLD Exodus Reversal  (6)
An interesting (though too long for my liking !) analysis of the dynamics of GLD; but I think its opening assertion - "The capital fleeing this single vehicle was the primary reason gold plunged so dramatically in 2013's first half" - is as myopic and misleading as B****berg's standard statement that prices fell "...as some investors lost faith in the metal as a store of value" (or some similar phrase).

The Soap Opera Surrounding Today’s Gold Sell-Off Has Started  (19)
This guy really needs to move to de-caff. "Too many people have seen their finances crushed because they continued to drink the kool-aid" ?! All that has happened is that gold is now >20% below its all-time high. Even if you were unlucky enough to buy on the day it hit the $1900 high (and are foolish enough to sell it now), a 20% loss on a *reasonable fraction* of your portfolio should hardly be disastrous. ...

5 Reasons Gold Will Set an All-Time Record In 2013  (9)
Great article, but I think you’re far too bearish : ) Here’s a seventh reason : scarcity.

Global gold production is reckoned (by the US Geological Survey) to be about 2,600 tons per year : that’s 83,590,000 troy ounces.
At the current price ($1600) that’s worth $133,744 million.

Meanwhile, the world’s GDP is reckoned at about $70 trillion. The top 1% of wage earners take 10% of that; so...

The Gold Market Seen Through a Glass Darkly  (2)
Mr Schoon -

I'd just like to say how much I enjoy your articles, over the last few years you have had quite on effect on my opinions !

However I do think it's incorrect to give too much credence to the story about the BoE selling gold to bail out a bank with a heavy short position: I commented previously about this, on Bill Murphy's article "It Won’t Be Long Before The Gold/Silver Manipulation...

Closer Look at Gold's Potential 'Cup and Handle' Formation  (2)
Thanks for your thoughts, Jesse. Unlike many commentators on this subject, you are to be congratulated for your efforts to encourage everyone to search for the Truth, rather than angrily arguing their partisan opinion.

It Won’t Be Long Before The Gold/Silver Manipulation Scandal Goes Mainstream  (11)
Hi Bill

By way of caveat, I'd first like to say I totally appreciate the efforts of yourself & other members of GATA in attempting to expose the scandal that may in later times be called 'The Greatest Fraud On Earth'.

However I'm surprised you've quoted the Thomas Pascoe article, as many of the 'below-the-line' comments on the original have (fairly, I think) poured scorn on the main tenet, whi...

The Sunday Night Paper Silver Massacre – Revisited  (10)
Andy, you omitted to mention that after The Good Guys (allegedly) found and killed the (allegedly) most-wanted-man-since-Hitler, they (allegedly) dumped the evidence straight into the ocean. Obviously this had to be done "in a bid to stop his fanatical followers turning his final resting place into a shrine" - at least according to the UK's 'Daily Mail' (the newspaper that named Hitler 'Man Of The year 1936', ...

IMHO, this article is probably more reassuring than an affidavit signed by *both* Popes. Thanks Bron.

Today is the First Notice Day for Silver  (24)
When it's a choice between paper promises, or paying a bit of a premium for physical metal, you have to take the nasty-tasting medicine in the knowledge you'll feel a lot better in the end...

Another misplaced sneer about gold from The Wall Street Journal  (1)
True, it is (if our beliefs about the financial future are correct !) good for individuals like us who are heavily invested in precious metals. For the West as a whole though, disastrous.

Whilst Western CB's are busy suppressing the price of metals, for what they see as 'gain' (a few paper bucks from short-selling), the Eastern banks & people are busy buying like there's no tomorrow; thus, before our v...
