Small-scale historic mining and prospecting occurred on the Black Eagle Vein from the years 1907 to 1920 as indicated by several adits, a shaft, and four narrow stopes that were mined through to surface. Several companies explored the Buckskin Rawhide property between the years 1982 through 2001, but apparently only Kennecott Minerals Company examined the Black Eagle Vein
