Geology of the Sunshine / Mineral Mountain
The Mineral Mountain property straddles the Polaris Fault, which hosts the silver deposits are currently being exploited in the nearby Galena Mine. Much of the property is underlain by belt rocks of the St. Regis and lower Wallace rocks, consisting of quartzites and argillites. It is these quartzite units that host many of the silver veins in the silver valley.
