The Sindirgi area has been subjected to varying degrees of exploration activity for over fifteen years. Much of this activity was concentrated in the early 1990's and then again in the early 2000's, by Eurogold Madencilik A.S (“Eurogold”), then Tuprag Metal Madencilik San. ve Tic. Ltd. Sti. an operating subsidiary of Eldorado Gold Corporation (Eldorado) and most recently by Newmont.
