History of the Relief Canyon Mine
The Relief Canyon gold deposit was discovered by Duval Corporation in 1981. The property has gone through a series of owners and operations since that time. From 1986 to 1989, 220,500 ounces of gold were taken out of the Relief Canyon property. The operations were then ceased because of the falling price of gold. In 2004, the property was acquired by Firstgold Corp.
