The Crosswell River property is located within the Hudson Bay Basin in northeastern Manitoba. In this region, along the margins of Hudson's Bay, Paleozoic sediments (predominantly Devonian to Ordovician carbonate rocks) overlie the basement rocks

The basement is believed to be the northern margin of the Trans-Hudson Orogen adjacent to the Southern Hearn Domain of the Churchill Province
