| The owner of the mine, Murowa Diamonds Private Limited (MDPL), is incorporated in Zimbabwe. Rio Tinto plc has a 78 per cent interest in the company and the remaining 22 per cent interest is locally owned through RioZim (Private) Limited. |

|
Three kimberlite pipes were discovered on the mine site in 1997. Feasibility studies and mine planning were conducted from 1998 to 2000, with mine commissioning in 2004.
