Geology of the NANUQ Project
The project is underlain by Archean granitic and gneissic units of the Western Churchill Province, and is along the major crustal Keewatin arch. The Nanuq property is strategically located along where this arch is intersected by the Wager Bay shear zone, a major crustal break. Intersections of major structures such as these are thought to be areas favourable for kimberlite emplacement.
