The Group acquired a 100% interest in Tethyan Copper Company Limited (“Tethyan”) on 20 April 2006. On 22 September 2006, the Group entered into a joint venture agreement with Barrick Gold Corporation (“Barrick Gold”) to establish a 50:50 joint venture over Tethyan’s mineral interests in Pakistan. |

The Reko Diq copper-gold porphyry resource is located at an elevation of 1,300 metres in the dry desert conditions of southwest Pakistan within the remote and sparsely populated province of Baluchistan.
