|
Gold prospecting at Haldeiskaja was first conducted during the 1840’s, when there were 7 gold areas. The gold values of these areas were high, 2-5 g/m3, but only investigational exploitation took place due to the large number of occurrences. 10 kg of gold was actually recovered from the placers.

The geochemical anomalies of gold, their accompanying elements are interpreted by Cigma and Geosphera to be indicative of intense activity of hydrothermal alteration of the black shale along fault zones and gabbro dikes. Such intense hydrothermal processes can focus mineralisation into gold deposits.
