History of the Sekenke Project
The former Sekenke Gold Mine was the largest single producer of gold in the pre-war period of the late 1930s inTanzania with development extended down to the 7th level (200m below surface).

Geology of the Sekenke Project
The geology of the Iramba Plateau consists of Late Archean basalts, metasedimentary rocks, schists derived from acid volcanic rocks, BIF and granites. The SJV has identified a 12,000 m X 800 m highly prospective structure of sheared metabasalts that hosts numerous quartz reefs. Assay results from rock chip samples indicate significant Au anomalies in the quartz reefs.
