History of the Kangiara Project
The Kangiara mine produced 40,000 tonnes grading 16% lead, 3% copper, 5% zinc, 280g/t silver and 2g/t gold from underground workings exploiting steep-dipping sulphide veins mainly between 1909 and 1927. The mine worked two sub-parallel adjacent north-south veins to a depth of 120 metres. The veins dip to the east - southeast at approximately 70 degrees.
