Geology of the Mambrui Project
The area is mainly composed of unconsolidated to semi-consolidated rocks of Tertiary to Quaternary time. The Mambrui deposit is located in the Magarini sands of Pliocene age forming bright red sandhills behind the coast. The heavy minerals contained in this formation are periodically washed out during periods of heavy rain and forms blacks streaks along the roads.
