History of the SMITH LAKE Project
The Smith Lake property formed part of a larger group of claims held by Conquest Yellowknife Resources in th elate 1970s-mid 1980s. Previous exploration comprised geological mapping, geochemical and geophysical surveys together with a limited diamond drill program.
 
Geology of the SMITH LAKE Project
The Renabie area lies within the Michipicoten greenstone belt. This greenstone belt trends northeast and is comprised of basaltic to rhyolitic metavolcanic rocks. Iron formation and volcano-sedimentary rocks are also found throughout this belt. Also, small sills of quartz and feldspar porphyries are found within the volcanics. Granite and granitic gneiss surround the Michipicoten greenstone belt.
