Location of the CATA PRETA Project
The Cata Preta gold project is located in the mineral-rich Quadrilatero Ferrifero region, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The Cata Preta project area is located near the historic gold mining centres of Ouro Preto and Mariana in the southeast sector of the famous Quadrilatero Ferrifero mining region.

History of the CATA PRETA Project
The project area currently includes two exploration licenses which cover approximately 2000 hectares and include the historic Cata Preta gold mine. The principal gold deposits at Cata Preta, which occur in a black manganese-rich rock locally termed "carvoeira", were discovered in 1690 and mined by a combination of open cast and hydraulic methods throughout the 18th century.
